Freedom Foundation are looking for mentors who have experience of working with children and young people in schools, alternative provisions or community settings to deliver mentoring sessions in our alternative provision settings.
We have vacancies for enthusiastic and passionate people with:
– Experience 1-to-1 mentoring children in Key Stage 1 & 2 – Experience of working with children with additional needs
Key Responsibilities
· Working with children in Key Stage 1 & 2 who need tailored education on a 1-to-1 basis, whether due to additional needs, trauma, anxiety, school refusal, or previous exclusions
· Supporting learners with improving emotional regulation, self-esteem and mental health through wellbeing support
· Identify and address barriers to child’s progress
· Plan mentoring sessions according to each child’s individual needs
· Able to set SMART goals with learners and track their progress
· Maintain accurate records
· Reporting progress to the wider team to offer valuable insights into each child’s development
· Supporting children in re-engaging with learning, aiming to help them transition from our alternative provision back into a mainstream school setting
· Delivery regular 1-to-1 sessions at multiple school sites once the child has transitioned back to their mainstream school
· Attend mandatory training sessions
You will receive thorough training, guidance and support to understand our programmes, and in return we need you to be adaptable, approachable and most importantly awesome!
Pay: £110 to £150 per day depending on experience
Hours: Minimum 3 days a week with the possibility of up to 5 days, Term-time only
Locations: Nottingham City and Derby City
